Don’t make them ask~
Leave the light on, and,
stay with him until he falls asleep.
Stop talking, and listen,
not only to his words,
but to his actions,
his silence and his tears.
Walk quietly beside her
so she can feel your presence.
Hold his hand until
he wants you to let go.
Wrap your arms around her
while she weeps.
Sit with him in silence,
so he doesn’t feel the
emptiness that surrounds him.
Don’t ask what’s wrong,
because she’s not sure.
People in pain, suffering
with grief, depression, anxiety
or loneliness don’t always know
how to ask for what they need.
Don’t make them ask.
