If we’re lucky, we’ll NEVER be complete.

Do You Really Want Someone To Complete you?

Twice this week I had conversations with friends, 55+ both expressing the desire to find partners that would “complete” them.

“Why do you want to be complete? And, why do you think another person could possibly complete you,” were the thoughts that ran through my mind during these chats.

If we’re lucky, we’ll NEVER be complete. We will continue to be curious, to wander, to seek out new opportunities, to embrace new learning and ponder new wisdom, awe at new skylines and have experiences that help us grow, make us stronger and connect us to our higher self, but never complete. If we ever were, then what?

No matter what age you are, if you want to feel a sense of completion, try;

– Taking an art class then complete masterpiece-after-masterpiece.

– Complete a college program and put it to work.

– Complete a race and then a triathlon.

– Complete that screenplay then get out there and sell it.

– Complete a volunteer shift then sign up for the next one.

– Complete that project sitting in the garage.

– Complete promises you made.

– Complete skating, skiing, spanish, music or whatever lessons you want, then go out and play.

Now is the time of your life to complete all the things you wanted to do but never found the time.

I like the thought of knowing I can always be more, learn more, do more, give more, see more, grow more. Always evolving. We are meant to be forever “under construction,” and need to accept that everyone we meet is also under construction.

If you are seeking to share your life with someone, don’t put the expectation upon them that they will make you whole or complete you.

Seek out someone that will be beautifully incomplete right along side of you. Someone that supports you as you both find your way, maybe mess things up and then put them back together again.

Someone that supports your desire to be more than you are.

Someone that cheers you on, that you can laugh, love and wander through life with.

Someone that absolutely loves your imperfections, would never try to change you but rather looks forward to watching you grow.

Someone that sees you as beautifully incomplete and loves your incompleteness ~ completely.

The forest has taught me;

The forest has taught me;

– There’s great peace when we are still.

– That light can find its way into the darkest of places.

– The forest is a refueling station for a tired soul.

– The answers I seek are inside me. Not merely in the words that stream through my mind, but in the feelings, the emotions and the wisdom that emerge when I’m silent and run from a busy world into the forest.

– In the forest, there’s balance, everything knows how to get along.

– The bark on a tree ages like our skin, the older it gets the deeper the lines and the more beautiful it becomes.

– I don’t need much to be happy, just a day in the forest.

Be grateful for the ones that show up

Be grateful for the ones that show up and love you exactly as you are.

The ones that go along for the ride, just to make sure you’re safe.

The ones that shelter you from life’s storms and bring out the sun to celebrate your greatness moments.

The ones that know when you need time alone to just be.

They ones that are patient and understand you have to live your learning.

The ones that never ask you to change, in fact, they ask for almost nothing.

The ones you turn your back on from time-to-time and when you turn back around there they are, still standing in your corner.

The ones you call to talk to about anything and they listen without judgment even when you make no sense at all.

They might be a parent, a sister, a brother, a cousin, a lover or a loyal friend ~ you may not always be kind to them ~ you may not always say thank you for showing up ~ but there they are, always on your side.

Be grateful for these beautiful amazing ones, the ones that show up and love you ~ exactly as you are.

You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

You’ve spent too much time searching for meaning, seeking purpose, trying to sort and figure yourself out, comparing yourself to others, worrying whether or not you’re good enough or if you’re on the right path.

My darling, you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be; which is here, living this life, in this place, with this tribe, on this journey, experiencing these lessons.

You’re perfect ~ you are good enough ~ you can stop searching ~ and just BE ~YOU❤️

Leave your heart~❤️

Leave your heart on the wild winds that following you through forest trails, tussle your hair and remind you that a higher power is always at work.

Leave your heart in the rapture of moonlight and the glow of stars when you awe at the brilliance they leave in the sky.

Leave your heart on the peaks of mountains that call you to explore and on savage river rapids and ocean waves that carry you to new people, places and incredible adventures.

Leave your heart in the hands of your inner-child and the magic, playfulness and curiosity they possess.

Leave your heart on the kites that take flight and in the sun drenched fields your mind races through as you ponder the mystery of you.

Leave your heart in the passion that will become words on a page, the colours on a canvass, the beats of the songs you sing and the notes you play.

Leave your heart on the things that ignite your soul and bring you to life, so those that follow might be inspired to shine.

Leave your heart in a state of wonder, excitement, anticipation and be always grateful that you were chosen to live this insanely, amazing, earthly, adventure.

When’s it’s all over, make sure your heart is left behind on the dust that rides in on rays of sunlight ~ reminding the world that you were here.

I wish you love ❤️

My wish for you today and every day, is love.

Not just romantic love, but a love for all things and all people, a love that is kind, authentic and extends beyond a single day each year.

I wish you a love that allows you to feel safe and secure in who you are and inspires you to grow into the best version of yourself.

A love that celebrates soul-to-soul connections with no expectations only an enduring appreciation, acceptance, respect and admiration for the beautiful, perfect and unique soul that you are.

If you have found the one that sets your heart on fire, makes butterflies dance in your chest and stars shine in your eyes, hold them close and give thanks for the gift of this love every single day.

For those still in search of an epic love, I hope you find the kindred flame that will warm and settle your soul, captivate your mind, make your body tingle and your heart sing.

Most of all, I wish you a love of self, where you see yourself as worthy, good enough and deserving of all that is beautiful and good. A love that allows you to be kind and gentle with your heart, your spirit and your body as you fully surrender to this amazing journey you’re on.

Yes, that’s the kind of love I wish for each of you – not just today or on Valentines day, but every day.

Waiting

We spend our lives waiting.

Waiting in line, waiting for the right time, the right person, the right place.

Waiting for winter, for spring, for summer and waiting for fall.

Waiting for it to be warmer, to be colder.

Waiting for the sun to rise, for the sun to set.

Waiting until we loose weight and get in shape.

Waiting for our children to arrive, our children to grow, our children to leave and our children to return home again.

Waiting to find a job, to find a better job, to retire.

Waiting to make money, waiting to make more money.

Waiting for somethings to begin and other things to end.

Waiting to find “the one” then, to find the next “one”

Waiting to find ourselves and understand our purpose.

Waiting to do the thing we’ve always dreamt of doing.

And when the thing we’ve been waiting for finally arrives, we start waiting for something else.

We will barely remember “it” because“it” sped by so fast as we were waiting for the next thing to show up.

Slow down, be present, stop waiting and just BE.

Appreciate where you’re at; even if it’s painful.

Be grateful for this moment, this time, this lesson, the joy, the sorrow, whatever it is, BE with it.

When we spend too much time waiting, we start to worry and negative feelings of fear, doubt, jealousy, regret and other emotions creep in.

The world is loud, chaotic, demanding, creating expectations of how we’re supposed to live and what we should aspire to be, programming us to wait for the next big thing.

Tune it out.

All you have to BE is YOU.

No matter how long you’ve waited or how prepared you are, IF ITS MEANT FOR YOU, it will arrive.

No amount of waiting or worry will slow down its arrival or speed it up.

Embrace the unexpected. The best things in life arrive when we least expect them.

So stop waiting because really, what are you waiting for exactly?
