You’re not selfish

YOU’RE NOT SELFISH.
You’re allowed to say no, not just when you’re too busy, but, when what’s being asked of you;
~ is unrealistic,
~ violates your core values,
~ violates your personal boundaries,
~ will affect your well-being,
~ is unnecessary or unhealthy,
~ drains your financial resources,
~ depletes your energy,
~ feels uncomfortable,
~ makes you feel guilty,
Or,
~ your gut tells you a situation is wrong.

These are situations you might want to say NO to.

We teach people how to treat us, and we build our self esteem, when we set boundaries and when we’re living our values. This isn’t selfish it’s necessary.

Your time, energy and financial resources are assets to be invested in the things that matter.

You, your dreams, your well-being, your life, your values, your loved ones, matter. Invest in that.

The day may come…

The day may come when the people, places, things and habits you’re used to, no longer fit or feel like you. If (when) this day arrives, embrace the calling to let go and move on.

When water stops flowing it becomes stagnate, toxic and foul. When we remain stuck, we can also become stagnant, toxic or foul.

Like water, we’re meant to flow and move forward. Our minds, bodies and souls constantly craving new knowledge, perspectives, landscapes, opportunities and adventures so we can grow.

It often feels easier to stay stuck where we are, because the thought of change is overwhelming. We do this all the time. We stay in uncomfortable relationships, situations, places, jobs, and uncomfortable (and unhealthy) behaviours and habits, because they’re what we know, or sometimes, they’re“ALL”, we know.

Don’t waste your one beautiful life and your curious mind, feeling stuck. We’re born to be curious explorers, to reach for the things beyond our grasp and to move beyond our comfort zone.

The place that feels familiar, may not be the place you belong.

Purpose

💛To have purpose,
💛To feel appreciated, loved, valued, comforted, safe, and at peace.
💛To be understood, seen and heard.

Don’t feel guilty for wanting these things, we all want and deserve these things. If they don’t exist in your life, or, in your relationships, perhaps its time for a change.

Putting your peace, your health, your growth, YOURSELF, first, is not selfish, it’s necessary.

More days behind me…

There are now more days behind me, than days in front of me; and, I find myself mindfully letting go of what I can no longer control or carry on this journey.

I’ve met and fallen in love with, the freedom that comes with forgiveness, letting go of regret, fear, anger, grief, the opinions of others, and even the material possessions that weigh me down.

As I shed old habits, behaviours and “stuff” a renewed spiritual beauty is blooming within me and I’ve never felt more alive or, more like myself.

My heart has softened, my authentic self is emerging and I see the wisdom in placing more value on stillness, honesty, compassion, simplicity, our connection to each other and to the natural world.

We’re are so easily distracted from what’s important. We’ve made life too complicated, too chaotic, too cluttered, too loud and too messy. But, it doesn’t have to be.

At any time, on any day, any one, can decide to live differently. To live gently, honestly, compassionately and lighter, because one day you might look back and wish you had.

Go anyway!

Go anyway.
Whether it’s a walk, a restaurant,
a day of fishing, a movie, a museum,
a concert, or a trip, even if no one else wants to go along for the ride,
go anyway!

Going solo, encourages mindfulness and provides opportunities for self discovery and introspection.

When you go solo, you set the agenda, no compromises, no negotiations.
Solo adventures are often the best adventures. They’re fuel for the mind, body and spirit.
So go!

Life is not a fairytale

~ Life is not a fairytale 🧚‍♀️

We’re born into the world as these happy, loving, innocent, free-of-sin little souls who spend the first chapter of life learning how to communicate and live in our human body.

The second chapter of life is spent doing, being, believing and learning, what we’re told to do, be, believe and learn.

The third chapter of life we come to terms with the fact that we don’t want to do, be or believe everything we’ve been told.

Chapter four we spent undoing and unlearning what doesn’t feel authentic, and finally growing into who we’re meant to be.

Then, if we’re lucky, we get a fifth chapter, where we don’t really care what others think or say about us, we’re comfortable in our skin. We have a sense of who we are, and we’re finally able to be our true self.

The wonderful thing about life is, you can skip to chapter 5, at any point. Today, you can jump to chapter 5!

Life is not a fairytale, but, you can still take charge of your happily ever after.
