~ Our differences

While it might be easier and feel safer, to be around those who are similar, its the ones who think, live, look and believe differently than we do, that provide the best opportunity to learn, grow and deepen our understanding of the world and ourselves.

Spending time with those who’ve lived different experiences than we have or, are older, or younger, have different educational, cultural, religious and political backgrounds, can help us become more open minded, patient, empathetic, and generally better, kinder, well-rounded individuals, and, may help us live more interesting and peaceful lives.

The strength and support we can offer each other doesn’t always come from our similarities, but from the unique, and interesting things that make us different.

Our differences shouldn’t divide us, they should spark our curiosity and, make us a better, kinder and wiser collective humanity.

~Peace

For years, songs have been sung,
poems recited, books written, speeches delivered, research conducted, on the importance of love, peace, kindness, compassion, acceptance, and caring for the planet.

The same words repeated over and over, for millennia, yet here we are.

Future generations deserve better than the hatred and violence we leave behind.

~ Bad things can turn into good stuff

When things don’t go according to plan,
remember,
~Penicillin,
~Post-it Notes,
~Microwave Ovens,
~Rubber,
~Wine,
~Cheese and yogurt,
~Bread,
… all started as an error, an accident, a misstep or something gone bad, that turned into something good.

Sometimes bad things, turn into things that makes us stronger, healthier, wiser or put us on a path towards something better.

Trust the journey❤️

~ You can turn the page

You’re allowed to change your mind, your perspective, your point-of-view, your direction and your goals, as frequently as you need too.

Those who commit to personal growth, often change their minds based on new wisdom, life experience and insight. This doesn’t make these individuals indecisive or wishy-washy. It means they’re flexible, adaptable, and means they possess a healthy willingness to evolve into better versions of themselves.

When we live mindfully we develop clarity on what we need in life, what we need to let go of, walk away from and what we want to walk towards.

At any point, YOU can; turn the page, take a new path, change your mind, change your goals, change direction, or, change who you spend your time with. When we’re learning and growing, that’s what we do; we change.

~ Raindrops

You and I, like rain drops, fell from the same sky, carrying the potential to do amazing things, depending where we fell and who landed beside us.

We joined others to became a part of a trickle (our family and friends) flowing through this world. These small but mighty trickles eventually merged becoming living streams, moving forward, feeding the landscape, fuelling the planet and forming roaring rivers (our communities), flowing together, creating something bigger (humanity) amassing collective wisdom as we go.

When we flow with this collective force, the journey is calm, peaceful and easy. When we swim against the current or try to go back, we get pushed down, and some, drown.

Eventually, like rain drops, we arrive at a vast sea of oneness where we finally realize we’re connected, powerful, beautiful and strong, when we flow together.

We bask in this wisdom of oneness for just a short time, until the warmth the sun calls us home. There we wait for a new journey to begin; wondering where we will land and wondering if collectively, we can make a difference “this time” and on it goes.

Have a beautiful, peaceful, purposeful and pleasant day, all you powerful, unique, little raindrops.

~ Don’t let your pain be your story

Every sunrise creates the opportunity to start healing from whatevers hurting or haunting you. ☀️

It doesn’t matter how your pain found you, what matters is how you muster the courage to move beyond it.

Healing can start by forgiving who or what hurt you, including forgiving yourself for the role you played or decisions you made, that led to your emotional or physical pain.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean you condone or forget what happened. Forgiveness is the act of reclaiming control over your mental and physical well-being so you can move on and live your best life.

When we forgive, we put the weight of our pain down and remove the power it has over us. Forgiveness allows peace to fill in the spaces where sorrow, guilt, regret, anger, grief or other pain once lived and, we begin to heal.

If you need help getting started; write down the things you want to heal from and who you need to forgive. Then, find your place of peace. This place might be a forest, the oceanside, a wide open field, the rivers edge, a mountain top, your garden or a quiet room with a view.

In this safe space set your words free. You can burn, bury, shred or flush, them away. Or, scream them out into the ether.

When you leave this place, think about the lessons you’re pain provided, offer gratitude for the lessons, then leave what and who hurt you behind. If you feel your pain creeping back in. Go back to this place and reclaim your peace of mind.

Whether your pain is anchored in grief, regret, abuse, addiction, heartbreak, illness or other physical or emotional suffering; today’s a good day to start healing.

Pain is often where our greatest learning and growth takes place. It’s a part of all of our lives, but don’t let your pain be your whole story. 🌅

~ Life is better with sunshine.

Sometimes the warmth and light we need, shows up in the form of a happy, cheerful, little soul who radiates the light that lifts us up and warms our heart for a little while. They are the sunshine in our rainy days.

They may not be there all the time, but when they show up, they add the brightest of colours to our life. They shine their light for us when we can’t find our own, and wrap us in their glow when the world has made us cold.

Let them know how grateful you are for the smiles, the joy, the light, the giggles, the hugs and the warmth they bring into your life.

It might be the lady at the post office, the elderly gentleman that smiles and says hello every time you pass on the street, your neighbour‘s dog, your cat, or, the amazon delivery guy. It doesn’t matter where the light comes from, happy is happy, no matter how it arrives, so let them know they make a difference.

Have a happy day and when you can,
be the sunshine in someone’s life☀️💛
