Get grounded in who you are

Be so grounded and at peace with who you are, that no outside validation or recognition is require.

When we make choices or take action based on the expectation that others will validate our worth, we set ourselves up for disappointment, and, we often end up making the wrong decisions.

Make choices and take action, based on what you know is authentically right for you, rather than societal expectations or the quest to please others. This includes; how you dress, where you pray, how you vote, who you love, how you live, and saying “no” to the things that compromise your values and ethics, and saying “yes” to, and standing up for, what YOU believe in.

You know who you are and what you believe in. Stop chasing approval or going along with “it” to please others.

If you’re relying on others to validate your worth, you’re also giving them the power to take it away.

You’re not selfish

YOU’RE NOT SELFISH.
You’re allowed to say no, not just when you’re too busy, but, when what’s being asked of you;
~ is unrealistic,
~ violates your core values,
~ violates your personal boundaries,
~ will affect your well-being,
~ is unnecessary or unhealthy,
~ drains your financial resources,
~ depletes your energy,
~ feels uncomfortable,
~ makes you feel guilty,
Or,
~ your gut tells you a situation is wrong.

These are situations you might want to say NO to.

We teach people how to treat us, and we build our self esteem, when we set boundaries and when we’re living our values. This isn’t selfish it’s necessary.

Your time, energy and financial resources are assets to be invested in the things that matter.

You, your dreams, your well-being, your life, your values, your loved ones, matter. Invest in that.

The day may come…

The day may come when the people, places, things and habits you’re used to, no longer fit or feel like you. If (when) this day arrives, embrace the calling to let go and move on.

When water stops flowing it becomes stagnate, toxic and foul. When we remain stuck, we can also become stagnant, toxic or foul.

Like water, we’re meant to flow and move forward. Our minds, bodies and souls constantly craving new knowledge, perspectives, landscapes, opportunities and adventures so we can grow.

It often feels easier to stay stuck where we are, because the thought of change is overwhelming. We do this all the time. We stay in uncomfortable relationships, situations, places, jobs, and uncomfortable (and unhealthy) behaviours and habits, because they’re what we know, or sometimes, they’re“ALL”, we know.

Don’t waste your one beautiful life and your curious mind, feeling stuck. We’re born to be curious explorers, to reach for the things beyond our grasp and to move beyond our comfort zone.

The place that feels familiar, may not be the place you belong.

Purpose

💛To have purpose,
💛To feel appreciated, loved, valued, comforted, safe, and at peace.
💛To be understood, seen and heard.

Don’t feel guilty for wanting these things, we all want and deserve these things. If they don’t exist in your life, or, in your relationships, perhaps its time for a change.

Putting your peace, your health, your growth, YOURSELF, first, is not selfish, it’s necessary.

~Where do you feel most like yourself?

Where do you feel most like
yourself? The place where your mind, body and soul meet to express who you REALLY are?
~ the forest?
~ your workshop?
~ the garden?
~ the ocean?
~ your book nook?
~ church?
~ the gym?
~ your craft room?
~ on your bike?
~ in the barn?
~ in the kitchen
making cupcakes?

This is your place of peace.
We all need this place to rejuvenate and remember who we REALLY are.
Go there.
Often.

Your journey, your life

Your journey, your life. No one will ever understand or walk your path, better than you.

If you’re living, dressing, or acting a certain way to please others, you’ll constantly be uncomfortable and, unhappy.

To feel fully alive, you have to follow your dreams, set your goals and dress for the life you want to live, not the life others want you to live.

The most uncomfortable, yet necessary thing, you might ever do, is learn how to be comfortable being you.

It might also be, the most beautiful and liberating thing you ever do.
